Feeling really good about your basic skills and want to learn how to create a project that is a bit more involved? Come on in and we will help you as you grow and refine your skills! We will guide you step by step through: • Understanding fabric basics and how to match fabric type to a particular project: o Types - Plant-based, animal-derived, man-made o Structure – Woven, knitted, bonded - Straight of grain • Higher level seams – French seams, flat-felled seams, welt seam, lapped seam • Fabric preparation and ironing techniques – many times it’s the little details that make the project easier and the finished item better looking. • Sewing tools – You’ll learn the proper (and most efficient) ways to use them. • Using all you’ve learned, you will complete a fun and functional project that you will take with you! Everything you need for this course is supplied.
