Service Description

Simple as one, two, three! We provide three levels of beginner classes, starting with an Introduction to Seauxing. Each 2 ½ - hour class provides you with ample time to learn and create! Based upon your existing knowledge and experience, you can choose one, two or all three classes! Introduction to Sewing: Are you intimidated just looking at a sewing machine, or has it been years since you touched one? Perhaps you’ve always wanted to learn to sew but didn’t have a convenient resource. Now you can easily build your sewing confidence as we guide you step-by-step through: • The machine – Learning the names of all those buttons, dials and settings and the amazing things they do! • Controlling the machine: Speed and steering ... like driving a car. We'll begin by practicing on paper. • Threading the upper machine – You’ll be surprised at how easy it really is! • Winding and inserting the bobbin (that's the lower thread). • Fabric and pinning placement and orientation: "Rights sides together", and straight pin location. • Sewing a basic seam – You’ll actually start sewing on fabric and learn about the 5/8" standard seam allowance, and backstitching. • Using all you've learned, you will complete a project that you will take with you! Everything you need for this course is supplied.
