Seauxing Seeds Marked Second Year with Fundraiser, Quilt Silent Auction, Demonstrations, and Door Prizes

Seauxing Seeds celebrated two years as a non-profit on April 25, 2024. The studio welcomed patrons, volunteers, and guests with a "Spin to Win" raffle entry for each guests, where a spin could award prizes from Seauxing Seeds Gift Cards and discount coupons to grab bag gifts. A Guessing Jar held 960 sewing clips and the person who guessed closest to that number won the jar of clips, a pair of professional 11" tailor's sheers, a Seaxuing Seeds Gift Card and a coupon for a free class! Congratulations Julie Hopkins! The event also auctioned a number of quilts and raffled a baby quilt. Free motion quilting demonstrations were given on the Janome QMP 20 long arm, and our Brother Innov-'is NQ1700 embroidery machine.

Thank you to all who attended and supported the mission of Seauxing Seeds through your generous donations.

Donations in our first year of operation went to The Northlake Crisis Pregnancy Center, Women's Life Ministries, Northshore Enduring Hope and Basket of Hope. We welcome anyone with all levels of experience to join us during our Open Seaux sessions to participate with these community projects or to sew your own project. We are currently seeking donations to fund scholarships to allow for enrollment of students who are not able to afford class tuition. It is our goal that we will eventually operate without having to turn a single student away for reasons of financial need. Your generous support will allow this to take place! The Donate button on this website will also allow for donations to be made in honor of someone you love!

We are always seeking volunteers at our studio! We welcome volunteers of all ability levels to help with sorting, measuring, ironing and cutting donated fabric and cutting fabric for quilting and other class projects. We are also in need of class assistants for our instruction classes. In addition, service hours are given for our high school student volunteers.

Seauxing Seeds also partners with other local non-profit organizations to share the art of sewing with hand sewn items such as baby bibs, burp cloths, blankets, lap and baby quilts, pocket prayer quilts, dog beds and more! If you know of a local non-profit that could benefit from these items, please contact the studio: (985) 234-9182.
